First, a pleasant and relaxed chat with the recruiter. Then a second call with the hiring manager, also friendly but definitely - and appropriately - more technically challenging. I was kept informed of the expected process so there were no surprises. The recruiter was also honest enough to say that there were a couple of people further along the process, and that they didn't want to ask me to start the third round technical test that might prove irrelevant. A few weeks later I learnt that I didn't get the job, but I really appreciated that respect for my time.
