      Contract Recruiter Interview

      Dec 21, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Nestlé Purina U.S. (New York, NY)

      Interview

After interviewing, I received a friendly and outgoing request for a phone interview. After a few delays, we finally worked out a time to talk. The interview went as expected, with behavioral and basic questions. The interviewer was friendly and informative. She said I would hear back from her within a week no matter their decision. A week passed, no word. I emailed her asking if there was any news, or anything else she needed on my end. No response to that either. Still no reply to this day. I know many companies do not get back if they choose to go in another direction, but as she explicitly said she would inform me no matter what, it is very frustrating, especially as she overlooked my follow-up email, as well. I was not only excited to interview for such a great company, but such an important role, as well. This lack of communication and follow-through only proves how important the need for good recruiters is, as their current ones are projecting false transparencies. It is disheartening to now view the company, and my interviewer, differently because of this experience, but so it goes.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Nestlé Purina U.S. (Flower Mound, TX) in Dec 2020

      Interview

The recruiter was very clear about the process and what to expect. The phone interview was very professional, but where recruiters often fail is follow-up. I never got a call or email about my status. When I followed up, I was told I should have received an automated email. I never saw it after a search of my email. But, as a candidate, when I spend 50 mins on a phone screen, I would expect the courtesy of a voice to voice update. In my experience, this is one thing that can really separate a company from others in the interview process. Even for those rejected, the experience should be good and respectful of the time I spent in the interview process.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your interview experience with us. We do our best to provide a well-thought out interview process as well as a "professional" one as you mentioned. We're pleased to hear you felt it was a professional experience. The individual you spoke to was correct in that we send some of our correspondences via automated email. We're sorry to hear you did not receive yours, but if you haven't done so already please check your SPAM folder as at times, emails have ended up in that particular inbox for some candidates. Due to the high volume of interviews our Talent Sourcing team conducts, the best possible way to keep our candidates informed, within a timely manner, is to communicate via automated emails. Again, thank you for your time and we wish you the best on your future career endeavors!

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Nestlé Purina U.S. (Saint Louis, MO) in Aug 2020

      Interview

I originally had a phone screen in March 2020 for a contingent recruiter position. Since that was at the time of COVID the position was delayed until August. I cannot brag enough about Katie Coyle and the candidate experience she provided! She updated me almost weekly to let me know the progress of the position, even if there was no news to give. It gave me a great impression of the company before I even started. Thanks Katie!
