      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Nestlé Purina U.S.

      Interview

For the behavioral interview, they asked me 2 questions about specific situations. 1. When have you had to describe something technical in simple terms? 2. For the last design project you were on, what research did you have to do in order to design it? They also went through my resume with me and asked me to describe everything on it with more detail.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Nestlé Purina U.S. (Saint Louis, MO)

      Interview

I applied online and the next day I received an email telling me to set up a phone interview. The phone interview was fairly easy. They asked you to talk through your whole resume, so I suggest looking back and remembering key accomplishments and actions you made in all your jobs and internships. Then about a week and half later I got an email telling me I have been chosen for an onsite interview at one of their plants. They paid for my hotel and transportation, it was super easy to set up all my travel arrangements with them, they were super accommodating. The first day was very casual. There was a presentation where they talked about the history of Purina (which was really interesting!) and then they gave us an awesome tour of the whole plant. I suggest writing down some questions you may have so you can ask them during your interviews and even at dinner with other trainees. After the tour there a cocktail hour and dinner with other trainees. Take this time to ask questions and get a feel of the company culture. I personally liked it, the specific plant where I will be working, people seem very relaxed and open to help you out in anything. Super welcoming! The next day were interviews. I had 4, 1 hour long, interviews back to back. They were not super hard, but after the third one your brain might be a bit fried. Everyone was friendly and I got the sense that they just wanted to see how you are as a leader, as an effective team member and if you can work in a fast paced environment. After that they feed you and then you are done for the day. They were also very quick to tell you their final decision, they call you and also send you an email with the offer`s details. Overall, it was a great and super informative experience.

First and foremost, congratulations! We are very excited to have you join us next year in our Management Development Program. It’s truly a unique opportunity to learn the business and progress to management on the manufacturing side of our company. In fact, I started here in manufacturing over 25 years ago and I’m proud to see how the program has evolved over time. We know there’s still some time yet until your start date with us, so feel free to reach out to your contacts or your assigned ambassador should you have any questions. I look forward to meeting you in person in the near future. - Kirk L., Vice President & Director of Manufacturing

      Engineering Management Trainee Interview

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nestlé Purina U.S. in Sep 2016

      Interview

I applied through my university's career website and got a request to schedule a phone interview very quickly after. The phone interview was pleasant. First, they explain the position to you more clearly. You are then able to talk about your resume and then there are some questions that are behavior based. At the end, you can ask all the questions you want and get real feedback from the recruiter. Once all was said and done, I was told that my responses and resume were to be sent to managers at various facilities for them to review and that I should hear back within two to three weeks. I really thought I did a good job on this interview and I am confident that my resume is loaded well for an entry level position like this, but apparently not well enough. Within the time frame explained by the recruiter, I got a "thanks but no thanks" email. It was really a bummer and to be honest seems a bit rigged, but at least they had the decency to tell you no unlike many other companies. It is kind of a shame that hard working people are allowed to slip through in the application process because of the latest and greatest behavioral based question binge.

It was a phone interview. The person I spoke to summarized the position and other important details. Then we went through my resume in-depth, in which I was asked to expand on all jobs/internships I had previously held. Then there were 2 behavioral questions. I asked a few questions at the end.
