I applied online and received a phone call from an HR person within a month of my application. I scheduled a phone interview for the next week. The phone interview consisted of a few behavioral questions mixed in with some screening questions to ensure that I was a good fit for the company and that this position is intended to feed into their full time management trainee program. After the phone interview, I was contacted a week or two later to set up my interview at the headquarters. The interview consisted of a tour of the headquarters with HR where we were able to learn more about Purina and the general culture, lunch with other applicants and finally 3 sessions of group interviews. Each session was with 2 people from different departments. The questions were mostly behavioral. The interviewers also provided some background into what they did on a day to day basis and what they were looking for in an intern. The interviews were very laid back and a good opportunity to learn more about Purina as a company and its corporate culture. I highly suggest being honest about your experiences, be curious, and most importantly be confident about why you are a good fit for the company.

First I completed a 15 minute phone interview. After that, I was provided transportation and hotel accommodations for an overnight stay in St. Louis. The interview process in St. Louis was three 45 minute interviews by three Nestle Purina employees followed by a campus tour and lunch.
