I applied for Entry Network Engineer but recruiter contacted me and suggested I apply for level 1 Desktop support to gain some experience with the company.
I was scheduled for two separate interview that lasted about one hour. The first one with a Lead in Ohio went well. I was asked a few personality questions and basic technical questions. The second with a Lead in Overland Park, KS was a horrible experience. The Overland Park Interviewer was all bad vibes from the beginning. Seemingly uncomfortable that I have a CCNA but applying for L1 Desktop Support. Several times during the interview they laughed uncontrollably, not knowing I could tell they were making fun of me (perhaps my accent) via chat. I was told the interview went well, and they will contact me about the next process.
I was ghosted! Not even the courtesy of a generic rejection email.
From the questions I was asked, it does seem to me that this company is struggling to keep employees in the desktop support department. I was glad I wasn't offered the dead end job.
