Had the worst interview of my life here over a year ago, the director had no idea what his analysts were doing. He asked very quantitative focused, stupid questions (IE pennies in an elevator), so I got up and left because it obviously wasn't the kind of job I was looking for. Fast forward to a few months ago when I apply again because it turns out they let that director go. Exact opposite experience since that director has left. Extremely quick interview process, applied and phonescreened and interviewed accepted within two weeks. Speedy prompt replies, they obviously need the help. I made it very clear what my experience was and it was 100% applicable. I have worked in social listening and although not entirely the same it is quite similar. One interview focuses on the skills, another on the culture/how you will fit in, other are practical problem solving interview. Very good experience.

I applied online and was invited to do a phone interview shortly after. The questions during the phone interview were pretty standard - at the end, the hiring manager informed me that he would send me an assessment and writing sample to complete. I thought the assessment was difficult but after completing it, I was invited to a first round of interviews in the office. I did three half-hour interviews; the questions were mostly drawn from my resumé and experiences with data. I thought everything went well but I was not invited to the next round.

For people that are "always hiring" it's annoying how much back and forth was necessary to set up an interview time through the recruiters. They requested a writing sample and to complete a 30-minute quiz beforehand which is a screening process in lieu of any substantial conversation the recruiter would have to be responsible for. Many follow-up emails later I finally scheduled an interview where I spoke to no less than 7 individuals. It went by quickly though I do think the process could've been consolidated substantially. One in particular was tougher than the rest so if you are saying you are doing data analysis be prepared to know your math. He will drag you through multiple ridiculous hypothetical scenarios and confuse you with his convoluted way of doing math if you don't have an immediate response and test to see how you work under pressure by asking you to figure out moderate to complex mathematical questions. That said everyone was quite friendly. The recruiter mentioned I may have to do a presentation, but at that point I stopped the process. After multiple people talking to me for over six hours, are you kidding when you tell me you still don't have a good idea of my presentation ability? The office was a bit cramped and outdated and I know the company that was there before NI and I thought it was funny that for a company that is so rapidly growing they don't bother to change a thing.
