I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at New Relic
Interview
The interview process was fairly to the point. We went over role expectations as well as diving into my experience, and some soft skills questions. This was broken up by some small talk, and the overall interview was about 45 minutes.

I applied online. I interviewed at New Relic (Portland, OR) in Jun 2026
Interview
I had a pretty unprofessional experience interviewing for the Software Engineer I role in Portland, OR.
After my initial recruiter call, it took nearly two weeks for the hiring manager to schedule the interview. During the interview, the hiring manager appeared disengaged and showed very little interest throughout the conversation.
Following the manager interview, I didn't receive any updates for about two weeks despite following the process. Eventually, the recruiter responded, saying, *"We are fortunate to have narrowed our search and will hold on moving candidates forward at this time,"* and I later received the formal rejection email.
Overall, the hiring process lasted 37 days. The lengthy delays, lack of communication, and overall candidate experience made the process feel unprofessional.
