I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at New Relic (Portland, OR) in Oct 2018
Interview
New Relic's interview process was insanely thoughtful, and it was clear that the NR team deeply cares about the interviewees, the process, and finding good-fits all around. I appreciated the efficiency of first speaking with a recruiter, then having a 1:1 phone screen with a team engineering manager before coming in for an interview. I feel like this helped ensure an initial good-fit for both the team, the company, and myself. The in-person interview was equally efficient and thoughtful. I again met with the engineering manager to go over the role and make sure it was something I was interested in. Next, I paired with the team lead; then I went over technical questions with another team member; finally, I went over soft-skill questions with another team member. Interviewing directly with the team was huge in determining team-fit from both the team perspective and my personal perspective. I loved the opportunity to meet 1:1 with the people I would be working with, and the whole interview process was insanely fun and definitely the best interview experience I've ever had.

Question 1
I was asked to speak about a coding project that I was passionate about/proud of. I was also asked questions about HTTP--tracking down errors in a request/tracing calls, etc.
The interview process includes application screening, recruiter call, technical or role-specific assessment, panel interviews, culture-fit discussion, reference checks, and final offer, ensuring candidates are evaluated fairly and thoroughly before hiring.
