      Product Marketing Manager Interview

      May 7, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 1 week. I interviewed at New Relic

      Interview

It was just really unprofessional, the interview got rescheduled twice because the person interviewing me would send me a time, attempt to confirm and then not call at the expected time.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Are you an outgoing person? Do you work well with others? Standard questions.

Thank you for taking the time to comment, I am unhappy to hear about your experience. That is certainly not what we expect of our staff, nor what candidates tell me is typical. We will talk among the recruiting team to see what we can do to make certain that this doesn't happen again. Steve McElfresh VP People

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at New Relic (San Francisco, CA) in Sep 2022

      Interview

The interview process was seamless, and an opportunity to meet all of my relevant cross-functional teammates over the span of one week. The recruiting team was quick in following up and the 6-7 interviewers gave me a great sense of the culture right away.

      Question 1

Q: Why are you interested in New Relic, and this role specifically? Q: How do you think our messaging related to [x product or process] could be improved? Q: Who would you work with to achieve this?

      Product Marketing Manager Interview

      Anonymous employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at New Relic (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2017

      Interview

For the interview process on the marketing end, I initially met with my VP, head of competitive, and those who would be my peers. the interviews went smoothly, and I genuinely felt that everyone cared about interacting and gathering my feedback...I felt welcome. They wanted to my approach to product marketing, specifically around moving products through a go-to-market strategy. After initial interviews with marketing, I moved on to speak with members of their product teams. I believe they wanted to understand how well I would work alongside my peers within their product division. In all, their interview process ran smoothly, with a rep from recruiting guiding all interactions and next steps. The people at New Relic are serious about making great products for their very technical DevOps audience, but not so serious that they avoid talking about the human element (which matters equally to them).

      Question 1

Tell me about how you took a product to market previously.
