I applied via a referral, and a recruiter scheduled a screen with me. After asking me about my background, interests, and reasons for wanting to work at the Times, he said he would follow up at the very latest the next day. I followed up three times via email and once via LinkedIn, and he refused to respond with any information at all, which I thought was very unprofessional. At the very least, he could have provided some information about timelines or said that they weren't done finalizing their hiring plan. Instead -- silence for months.
