      Project Management Office (PMO) Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at New York Times (New York, NY) in Jul 2022

      Interview

All in all, the process for me took about two months from when I was initially contacted by a NYT recruiter. Unfortunately, what started out as a very positive experience, quickly turned into a very negative one along with several of the reviews on here. I went through all 3 rounds (6 interviews in all) and they were, for the most part, wonderful. After my final, final-round interview I met with a new recruiter I had been passed to. I was told that they needed to finish interviewing my competition and that I should know in 10 days time, but that if it was a no I definitely wouldn't be left to wait until then to know. Those 10 days came and went and I heard no decision and had no communication from the recruiter. I reached out the following work day (Monday) and never received a response from the recruiter. At this point, I assumed I was joining the ranks of Glassdoor reviewers who had been ghosted after completing all rounds of interviews (which is extremely rude considering how time consuming this process is). 15 days after my final interview, and having never received a response to my email, I randomly received a phone call and was told they offered the position to someone else who accepted. BUT the team had given great feedback and I was asked if I would interview for another position. I agreed and asked a few questions to confirm my interest before proceeding with another demanding interview process. Instead, I was met with terrible scheduling etiquette and eventually ghosted by the recruiter who couldn't seem to schedule a quick phone call. By the end of this process, I felt extremely disrespected (both myself and my time) and my once passionate interest in joining the NYT as an employee has become yet another weary warning on Glassdoor.
