In the initial phone interview by the recruiter she asked several times to know my salary within the first 10 minutes of speaking with me and stated if I did not state my salary I could not continue in the interview process. This was the most unprofessional phone interview I’ve ever had in my 20 years of working for various companies. They clearly were not interested in learning about what skills and expertise I could bring to their company only how little they could pay me. I ended the phone interview as I would not want to work for a company like this who does not value their employees. I am actively interviewing with other companies and other companies do not demand to know my salary up front. In fact, in some states it is illegal to ask about salary.
