      Applications Support Engineer Interview

      May 2, 2014
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at NewsCred (New York, NY)

      Interview

I applied online after reading positive articles on the company's business idea and work culture. Four days later, I got a call (which was 15 minutes late) from the HR team and we went through my resume and why I have applied for this position. The call didn't last for more than 10 minutes and it felt very rushed. We ended the call on good terms. I get an email a week later that they decided not to take the next step and are pursuing other candidates. I replied thanking the HR for the opportunity and that was that. Or so I thought. I got another email from another HR from NewsCred the following day saying that they want to pursue my application further and want me to come in to their office for in person interview. I was confused at this point but I didn't want to let the opportunity go so I replied back. I walked in their NY office and wow, what a great office. Lots of space, desk and chair separated evenly. Looked like a great place to be. Even when they didn't have a reception (because of renovation work), the employees walked up to me asking me if everything was okay or if I needed anything. The interview with the HR was fairly basic questions about my resume, what do you know about the company, your strengths and weakness. Nothing major to be honest. The HR also brought in a software engineer which was arranged on the spot and hence he wasn't able to go through my resume. So again, basic questions on my past experience, what technologies do you know, how's are you in programming. So based on that, I would say the interview went pretty well and we ended on good terms. Waited 2 weeks for a reply to see if they wanted to schedule the next round, or if I was rejected. No reply. So I followed up again after a week and got a reply that they identified a candidate and the position is filled. Game over.
