I applied online. I interviewed at NewsCred (New York, NY) in Aug 2017
Interview
I was approached by a company recruiter who saw a great fit with my enterprise content experience and successfully completed a phone screener. It was difficult to secure a time with the hiring manager who eventually confirmed then changed our interview time. After waiting for 20 minutes the interviewer didn't show nor reply to emails. After an hour I abandoned the call and followed up with the recruiter and hiring manager, neither of whom apologized or gave an explanation for the no-show.
On the third interview attempt we were finally in touch but the hiring manager was on a cell phone outside and seemed distracted and apathetic about the interview and my experience. With the phone dropping out over 20 minutes, there was no possibility of gaining momentum with the interview and all I could gauge was that there was only interest in content marketing experience which I had advised I didn't have but it seemed my resume hadn't even been viewed. It was clear there was a big mismatch between the what the recruiter and hiring manager were looking for. With that and the lack of courtesy shown to be somewhere and spend a few minutes to discuss the role I advised that I was ending the call as all I was getting were signals of a disorganized, chaotic, amateurish manager whom I would not be happy working for. This fell way short of my expectations for an enterprise supplier.
