      User Experience Engineer Interview

      Aug 9, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Columbia, MD
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Next Century (Columbia, MD) in Jun 2012

      Interview

The interview process is long and lengthy. It begins with a phone screen and design exercise, followed by a 1-2 hour interview with several members from the UX team. If that goes well, you then meet with the entire leadership team. This can be over one day or two days, depending on the availability of the interviewers. For myself, I was referred and had some familiarity with several members of the team already so I was able to complete all in-person interviews in one day. It was a tiring process but, in the end, I really appreciated it. Everything Leadership had to say to me really resonated with what I was hungry for in this line of work and their openness and dedication to finding the right "fit" was also important to me.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

One question in interviews that is always difficult for me is basically: where do you see yourself in x-years? or What is your ideal path?
