We are disappointed to learn that your interview experience with us was not as you had hoped it would be. We are genuinely delighted to meet and greet each one of our interviewees when they visit our offices.
In response to your review, we would like to first take the time to explain our interview process:
We typically ask each developer candidate to do a first-level screening (technical phone screen, code assessment, or code submittal). If all goes well, we proceed to invite the candidate to a formal, face-to-face interview. Each interviewer is provided with an interview packet that includes the full interview schedule and a printed copy of the candidate’s resume. This interview consists of a technical conversation with two of our engineers and also includes a white boarding problem. The ultimate goal is for our engineers to validate the candidate’s current level of expertise and to confirm that his/her technical ability and skill set is at the level that is required on the project the candidate is in consideration for. If the candidate passes the technical interview, we proceed to leadership interviews.
Based on your review, we understand that not passing the technical portion of our interview upset you and we are sorry for your disappointment.
Lastly, we’d like to confirm that all of our current employees have gone through the same interview process as stated above. All Next Century employees have been formally screened both technically and culturally to not only make sure their skills are in line with our current needs and the needs of our customers, but also to make sure they fit in with our mission-oriented culture. We want all employees to be on a constant journey towards high performance and their hard work and desire to stay in learning mode to master the art of software engineering is what has gotten them here. High performers do not beg for what they want to achieve - they work for it.
We appreciate your review and do truly wish you luck in your next endeavor.
