After submitting my resume, I received a call from HR informing me they liked my resume and were pleased to offer me an interview. I was informed that the interview was on demand and that I should complete the interview within 2 days time. I have not had to interview for a job in several years, so I was a bit nervous. I read online about the typical questions that are asked and prepared my answers and proceeded to memorize them. This worked well until I took the practice questions and froze. I ended up practicing in front of a mirror and finally felt comfortable enough to take the interview.
The interview was a disaster. The issue was that the job description was inaccurate and I was asked questions about technologies that I did not have experience with, so embarrassing. All I could do was politely explain that the interview questions referenced technologies that were not in the job description. I completed the interview (I was able to answer a couple questions), but knew that there was no way I was going to be hired for that job.
The next day I contacted the HR department and they confirmed that the job description was incomplete and that the information would be updated to better reflect the position.
