Interview
NextEra Energy… Your interview process is broken, and that’s a good thing for me!
Surprisingly, they reveal how many in an interview process on how a company is run. Disregarding a candidate's inquiries, lying, ghosting, and being strung along because they mismanaged the hiring process sent red flags flying in my direction.
Red flag 1. The hiring manager is most likely a micromanager.
Red Flag 2: Constant fire drills and disorganized chaos lead to a backlog of work.
Red flag 3. This is not an employee-first company; I’m not sure employees are second.
Red flag 4. Multiple job postings in the marketing area never seem to close and get reposted again.
Red flag 5. Very few candidates applied for the positions.
NextEra Energy is a company in a progressive, forward-thinking industry. One that will benefit future generations with their technology and resources for decades to come. It’s a company
I would have been proud to work for, but unfortunately, the company's technology is more advanced than the management's thinking and processes. Maybe they’ll catch up or be replaced; only time will tell. After all, they have a window for zero carbon by 2045 to figure it out.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at NextEra Energy, Inc. (Juno Beach, FL) in Jan 2008
Interview
Long process and interviewed by many people and levels. Posted positions my not really be active and many other interviews are exploratory. Salary negotiations highly based on previous history. Process is lengthy and background check adds time also.
