I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Noom (Grand Rapids, MI) in Mar 2018
Interview
About 5 days after applying I was asked about availability for a 3-hour interview. I had a 3 step interview process that I completed in just one day.
1. Phone interview with general questions
2. Mock coaching exercise that lasted about one hour. The "client" wanted to lose 20 pounds but didn't want to change anything so it was very stressful. This part definitely puts your coaching skills to the test.
3. Zoom meeting with the team manager. She asked very specific questions about health coaching. She gave me different cases and I had to tell her how I would coach that person... Lasted about one hour.
I was not offered the job and/or given any feedback so I am not sure what went wrong. I am bilingual and a certified lifestyle coach for the NDPP program. I also have extensive medical education and clinical experience... Maybe I was overqualified, lol!
At least they didn't waste much of my time in between steps...
After submitting a self-recorded video introducing yourself, if accepted, you are invited to a video interview. The conversation explores your background, education and experience, as well as goals for your career. It was relaxed but professional.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why do you feel you'd be a good fit for this position?
A few rounds of interviews with leadership and then presented with a case study for a theoretical user of Noom of how to assist them through menu selection at a popular restaurant chain.
Interview process included a mock interview (digital) and a virtual 1:1 meeting with a Heath Coach. My 1:1 meeting ended up being a phone call rather than a virtual meeting.
