      Virtual Health Coach Interview

      Oct 25, 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Raleigh, NC
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Noom (Raleigh, NC) in Aug 2018

      Interview

I submitted my application online on August 23, 2018. I received an email invitation from Noom on August 24th, to answer a series of five time-limited coaching scenario questions (25 min total), and to submit a one-minute recording of myself answering the question, "What makes you a great health coach." (Answering the in one minute is so hard!!! I practiced 50 times) I did all of those steps, and on the same day, Noom invited to the next level of the interview process which was a virtual mock coaching trial over zoom video conference call. They ask me to block out three hours for this part of the interview, but it only took one hour. I did this call on August 28th. The coach/interviewer was friendly and very casual. We chatted for a few minutes and then she had me message her on the Noom app. She pretended to be a client who was trying to lose weight, but her chaotic life kept getting in the way. I was pretending to be the coach. I tried to be supportive and nonprescriptive. I tried to help the client set her own realistic goals. From there I met with a different coach on Zoom about the position, and I was able to ask questions. Both of the interviews that day went very well. They told me I was very good at working with people, and that I had the "it" factor they wanted. I got an email to set up a time to talk with HR about the offer process. They schedule that call for September 5th, but on August 31st they said that they had already filled all of the positions for Virtual Health Coach for Q3. They told me they would reach out to me when they had the Q4 headcount budget approved, which could be anytime from September through November. I didn't hear anything in September. I got an email on October 4th from Noom wanting to schedule me for a phone interview with a recruiter to finish the offer process. I had my scheduled phone call with the recruiter on October 9th and received the written job offer from the Director of Talent Acquisition on October 11th. My official start date is not until October 29th. I am was on glassdoor a lot while I was waiting to get hired, and I read every interview review. I hope my review and timeline can be helpful to other people who want to be Virtual Health Coaches.
