I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Noom (Milwaukee, WI) in Oct 2019
Interview
It was a 3 part interview process. After the application (which is pretty fun to fill out), you are asked to take a little "quiz" where they run you through some scenarios. They are essentially just trying to see if you have basic coaching knowledge and see if you are a good fit with the Noom team.
If the like your responses to the first quiz, you are asked to do a virtual coaching session. Its 45-60 minutes and its all conducted via a google form. You'll fake coach a client (who is played by a current Noom coach). It's a pretty fun (and nerve-wracking experience). The client has some pretty intense goals and doesn't really know where to start and feels overwhelmed. All you have to do is guide the through the process. It sucks though that you don't get any feedback right away afterwards.
If they think you did a good job, they will invite you to do a Skype interview with a member of the hiring team. It is pretty informal, they will ask you a few questions, go over your mock coaching interview, and tell you a lot more about the position.
Overall, it was a positive experience, however, I will say that it is unfortunate that you don't actually get to speak to a real person until the third step in the interview. Everything is automated up until you speak to the hiring team (except for the mock coaching, in which they are pretending to be a client).
After submitting a self-recorded video introducing yourself, if accepted, you are invited to a video interview. The conversation explores your background, education and experience, as well as goals for your career. It was relaxed but professional.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why do you feel you'd be a good fit for this position?
A few rounds of interviews with leadership and then presented with a case study for a theoretical user of Noom of how to assist them through menu selection at a popular restaurant chain.
Interview process included a mock interview (digital) and a virtual 1:1 meeting with a Heath Coach. My 1:1 meeting ended up being a phone call rather than a virtual meeting.
