I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Ottawa, ON) in Sep 2018
Interview
The process was quite straightforward. I applied for a job online on September 5, then I had a phone interview, which lasted just a couple of minutes, on September 10. After that, I was invited to a face-to-face interview on September 17. I spoke with a very nice department manager for about 20 minutes. It was my first job interview in Canada, and I was really impressed with how comfortable it was. People I met there were all friendly and positive. I saw that they interviewed other people for the same position, and actually I didn't believe that they would choose me, despite the fact that I have considerable experience in the Customer Service. However, the manager called me the next day and said that they offer me this job. I was so excited! I accepted the offer and filled out all the forms for a background check. Now I'm waiting for further information from Nordstrom. And I'm a bit nervous because it's been already a week since I submitted my application. Anyway, they said that he start date will be on October 16.
It was a simple phone call where they asked about my availability and whether I was able to work on certain days and at specific times during the week. The conversation mainly focused on scheduling and making sure my availability matched the needs of the position.
The interview process was straight forward, only one interview. The questions are simple, and after the interview I was to put together two different outfits for different events. That was the conclusion of the interview and then heard back two days later about proceeding.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Nordstrom (San Diego, CA)
Interview
Went in on one of the hiring days before holiday season, did an interview on the spot and was hired. Very simple process, low stress. The manager was very nice.
