On line application. Video interview - be sure to use the PRACTICE runs. My first several had technical issues so it took longer to set-up than anticipated. The people I interviewed with were very up beat and personable. They did have a written set of interview questions. Be sure to follow the suggestions on the job requirements.

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Chicago, IL) in Apr 2017
Interview
The process took about a week. I have worked with Nordstrom during my summer college breaks. I was given a phone interview first. The phone interview went well and was asked then and there for my availability for an in person interview. The in person interview a couple days later was on time and lasted about 20-25 minutes overall. I was approached by the store assistant manager, taken into a room and was given a couple basic interview questions. The assistant manager then proceeded to describe the position in greater detail, revealing I wasn't necessarily getting the job I applied to. I applied as a retail associate but was told I would first be given other responsibilities such as stock. I was then interviewed by a department manager and am currently waiting for a response.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Nordstrom in Mar 2015
Interview
I scheduled a phone interview, and they give you a two-hour window during which they are supposed to call. I waited....and waited....and received no call during that time period. After about two and a half hours I finally received a call from the recruiting department, apologizing that their computer system had been down. She asked me my availability, and when I said that I could not start until summer (as I am a student), she said the interview could not continue because they were looking to hire people right away. This "phone interview" did not last more than five minutes. The woman conducting the interview advised that I apply for a position closer to when I would be available for the summer. She was very polite, but I still felt let down by Nordstrom's hiring process/customer service. Waiting over two hours for the phone call was frustrating as I am a busy student who set aside time specifically for the interview, and I wish they would have taken a few moments to look over my resume and see that I am a student who will not be available until the summer.

I applied online. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Sacramento, CA) in Mar 2015
Interview
Submitted an application online through the Nordstrom website. Got an email to schedule a phone interview a couple of days later. Completed the phone interview where I was asked a couple of basic questions. It took about 10 -15 minutes. Was then asked to schedule an in-person interview at the store. Went to the store the next day for the interview. Consisted of several questions, some of which were similar to the ones asked during the phone interview. Then was given a tour of the specific department by the manager. It has been a couple of weeks since the interview and I haven't heard anything about the position. But I was assured when I called the store that I should hear something soon and that they just have a lot of applicants to go through.
