I applied online as a current Nordstrom employee working as a sales associate. I heard back pretty quickly from a recruiter and had a phone interview. After that, you do an at-home multitasking test. I passed pretty easily. After a few days I was scheduled for an in-person interview, scheduled to include a test, interview, and tour/call-shadowing. The building is massive, so you have to call them when you get to the lobby and they'll come get you. My phone wasn't working (of course), so I borrowed the security guard's phone. He was very nice. First, they have you do another test that includes typing speed, multitasking, and something else. The interviewer was having issues setting up the computer for the test, so I was waiting a while and was left alone in the room while she went to get help. I didn't have any issues passing the test, and I was told that most candidates don't. After that we had a fairly brief interview with standard questions. It went well, and the interviewer shook my hand and led me back to the elevators. I was walking out of the building when I realized I never got the tour/call-shadow portion of the interview. I was afraid it was a bad sign, but I'm pretty sure she just forgot to do it. They were hiring about 40 people at the time, and had constant back-to-back interviews. After that, it took about a week to get a call offering me the position.
