I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Nordstrom in Nov 2014
Interview
I was invited for an informal interview at my college campus. The interviewer seemed really put off by my questions. I asked what the process is for building a clientele and how many clients come through the website itself. She said it was completely up to the Stylist to find clients, which is fair, but I didn't realize how heavily dependent the company is on Stylist networking. I felt a disconnect because she told me that I asked great questions end of the interview when she had just appeared bothered by my inquiries. I got an email from her the next day which was clearly a generic note she sent to multiple people. She said I didn't have enough sales experience even though I've been in retail for 5 years. I don't know what more sales experience they would find on a college campus. She said I should keep in touch and apply again after I've gotten more experience, "especially if your interest fully lies in NYC." I said that my interest would be in Chicago but that I was open to other options in my interview. Again, there was a disconnect between what I experienced and the feedback she was giving me. It seemed like they didn't really pay attention. Learning more about the company disillusioned me anyway. It is an interesting concept, but I didn't realize that they do very little to market themselves and that stylists would have to do most of the legwork for the company.
