I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nordstrom in Mar 2014
Interview
There where 3 interviews, the first one was all in interviews which means many people where there for diverse positions and the floor managers interviewed all. If the first one they liked you , you passed to a second manger. The questions where not hard, they where all predictable sales questions about costumer service mainly. The good part is that then they gave you a piece of clothing and you had to sell it to the manager as if she where a costumer.
After two weeks they called and I had the final interview with the department manager that was interested specifically. That was short and the questions where directed more about the department. # days later i started to work.

Question 1
Over all the questions the hardest one was about working as a team with the other sales associates. They gave you a situation where a another sales associate stole your costumer after being with him for more then an hour. The question was: How would I have solved or react in this case, keeping in mind the other sales associate was your assistant manager and that the costumer cared less about what you did for him before..
So easy, I went to a job fair and was hired on the spot. They need people in the kids department, that's the easiest section to get into. They just ask about your personality and who you are.
Was inside Barton creek mall, hiring manager was prompt and clear with questions ranging from how I would handle difficult customers, to my personal experiences that could apply to the job.
