I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Chicago, IL) in Feb 2015
Interview
Interview consisted of 3 rounds, 2 interviews each round. Questions were very average but I spent a month interviewing with them. I thought that this interview process was excessive for a part time job. I would expect 6 total interviews for a higher ranked job.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Chicago, IL) in Sep 2015
Interview
The interview process for this position was very easy and primarily seemed like a behavioral screen so that the company could get a good feel for your personality, work ethic, etc. I really enjoyed speaking with every interviewer (total of 4 throughout 2 Google hangout interviews) and felt like I connected pretty well with everyone.
I put in an application for the position and also had a current employee send in a referral and HR contacted me less than 24 hours later (which was much faster than I expected). I had an interview set up just a few days later. Then after that went well another interview was set up for the following week. I did all of my interviews via Google hangout since I was applying from out of state and relocating to Chicago.
I followed up with HR a few weeks after my last interview, as I was nearing my move date. By this point it had been about 4 weeks since my initial application and interview. At this point compensation had not been discussed, so the recruiter very casually mentioned that this position started at $12/hr which was much lower than what I listed for my salary expectations and far less than my current salary. I unfortunately had to remove myself from the hiring process for this position as the pay was not negotiable and $12/hr was not workable for me. It was very upsetting because I really felt good about this position and the possibility of working for the company. It would have been nice had the pay been mentioned up front, since it's much lower than expected.
I was left with mixed feelings about the interview process.
