I got scheduled an interview with the assistant manager and the counter manager of MAC cosmetics. It was casual, at the E-bar in Nordstrom. I got asked basic questions like why I wanted to work there, why cosmetics, why MAC, and how I feel about helping multiple people at once.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nordstrom

HR follow up is required. Submit/complete application process online first (including personality test), then call HR department of store to confirm receipt of application. Brief phone contact, long intervals of no contact before phone interview, in-person interview and job offer. Line assigned salespeople often need to complete an additional interview with cosmetic line representative/coordinator and possibly a demonstration of skills.
