I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Ottawa, ON) in Sep 2015
Interview
I applied online and was contacted by email maybe a week or so later to setup a time to do a phone interview. During the phone interview they asked basic questions like why I wanted to work at Nordstrom. Once they deemed me qualified they set up an interview time within the store the next day. The 2nd interview was with the HR manager. Everything went smoothly. She asked questions like where I see myself in the future, how to handle difficult situations, and what my best customer service experience was. Everything went well there too. She had wanted me to meet up with the Department manager the same day but the Department manager was busy so the HR manager told me she would call back in a few days. I waited 3 days and never got a call back from the Department Manager. I called in on the 4th day and spoke with the HR manager and she told me she would get the Department manager to call me back the next day. The next day came and still no call so again I called back the day after that. I got in contact with the Department manager and she set up an interview with me the next day. When I went in the Department Manager met me and bought me a coffee. She was such a nice women and she made me feel comfortable. She explained what the job would be like working at Nordstrom and asked me my thoughts about how I would fit in. I was nervous but I thought the interview went very well. She told me she would give me a call back in 2-3 days to let me know if I either got the job or did not. On the 3rd day I got a call from the Department Manager with an offer for the position and I accepted on the spot! I'm so excited to start.
