I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Newport Beach, CA) in Oct 2015
Interview
Due to the great number of applications for the role, the initial part of the interview (after a quick phone screening by HR) included a group Q&A, consisting of scenario based questions from the HR team and heads of the men's department. The situational- based questions were fairly simple; I recommend practicing your answers prior to the interview. Thereafter, the second stage interview consisted of a scenario, whereby I roamed the store and picked out outfits (casual) to match the situation. I was selected for the 3rd stage of outfit configuration by men's formal wear. If you know your basic colors, and outfit matching, the practice is rather simple (be sure to sell the outfits, keeping in mind the situation and the small details). I was given a business card and told to await a formal acceptance.

Question 1
Describe a situation where you exceeded the expectations of your manager?
Contacted me via email. Interviewed me and then wouldn’t return calls. We have been playing phone tag for weeks. AI is used for hiring and I think that should be revisited.
I attended during the hiring day, it was busy but the interview process was pretty straightforward and received an offer same day. I recommend attending early so you don’t have to wait so long.
Waited on a long line outside of the store for nearly three hours just to be met with a condescending bunch of hiring personnel. They seemed more annoyed at having to do their job as if they're on a high horse of some sort than actually caring, or pretending to care at the very least.
