I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Idaho Falls, ID) in Mar 2012
Interview
Northwestern Mutual offers a variety of financial products. Everyone I spoke with and had contact with, were very friendly. They were not aggressive in any way, nor did they make me feel uncomfortable during the initial interviewing process. Once I had my one-on-one interview they explained their interviewing process. According to their description each step of the process I would learn a little more of what would be expected and what I could expect from them. I would be required to take a compatibility test that helps them gauge the potential I have to offer them. Everything seemed fine. All internships are paid offers and you can do a part-time internship while attending classes at your college. However, simply put, the business model they use is very similar to a network marketing business. As an intern you will only be paid commission with small stipends for the weekly training's they hold every week. There is nothing sketchy about this company, they are a very legitimate business. However, you have to fit their mold in order to succeed in their program, and more importantly make money.

Question 1
Name 5 people you think would be a good fit for this job
Straightforward process, interviewed with them on campus. They provided the information I needed. I decided to not move ahead with the interview process as it did not align with my goals, but the interviewers were cordial and professional.
Felt like they were selling me something the whole time. Super easy to talk to, but something just felt off the whole time. Had multiple phases of them explaining why they're so perfect and great to work for (massive selection bias in some of their numbers)
