Ghosted by Novanta after final interview - BEWARE
I applied on linked via recruiting agency. I started the interview process in Feb 2020, had my onsite interview in early March.
This was with hiring manager, and othe senior leadership. I was told a week later by recruiter that they liked me and I was one of the top candidates.
Then the Covid lock down occurred, was told by the recruiter they wanted him to keep me warm and gauge my interest in the role, and that once they had figured out the Covid impact they would resume the interview process. They supposedly had meetings once a week with this recruiter, and he told me every week, pretty much the same message.
Finally in June, Novanta had contacted me, and told me that they were ready to resume, and they tell me that I was valued by Novanta, and that they wanted me to do a final video skype interview with a Senior Executive, HR also wanted to do one with me a few days before that interview. During that call, we talked about the adjustments they had because of covid and, they gave specific positive feedback from my onsite interview back in March. Few days later, I had my final interview, nothing out of the ordinary, felt it went fine, even called the recruiter after the interview, we discussed how it went, we were both excited to finally get this done.
... Then a few days go by, I don't hear anything from recruiter, he won’t return by calls or emails..
I contact the HR from Novata, they didn't respond to any of my emails.
A few weeks go by and I see the job posted again on Linked In, this time by a different recruiting agency.
All, I can say is, how unprofessional can this company be.. They strung me along for 5 months, 4 separate interviews, and even after telling them they were my first choice, I had even turned down other opportunities, and if everyone liked me had gotten positive feedback then what happened.
I did not make any demands or make changes from my side, so not sure what it could have been... and why not have the common decency to communicate back to me... goes to show you how they might have treated me or others after joining.
They lost all credibility with me and I felt that I had to share this story, so others are aware and to get closure for myself.
