I applied online and after 2 weeks I talked to the hiring manager over the phone. He was friendly and professional and we talked about my skills and past experience.
After a month I went for on-site interview. Surprisingly, I did not know the schedule until two days before, so it was difficult to arrange for acceptable transportation. Even more surprisingly, Novartis did not provide any lunch or assistance to get one, although 'lunch' word was on the agenda. Moreover, the hiring manager turned out to be an intimidating person, or I should say, was the master of intimidation. Fortunately, everyone else was just opposite - professional and friendly. I left with very mixed filings.
Despite I was disappointed with the image of Novartis I still decided to follow up - wrote a nice letter to the manager asking how things move. Zero response for next two months. Probably my email ended up in spam, how otherwise lack of response for such a long time can be explained??? By the way, they never reimbursed my expenses I had during the interview.
EDIT: to be fair - I just got the reimbursement check.
Importantly, after couple more months Novartis re-posted the same job description under a DIFFERENT Job Title and number; an entry level position this time!!! Cannot make up your mind, or too busy with internal reorganizations?
What a cool example of good business conduct.
