I never thought, I'd be writing anything about this organization. I wasn't into job market, but I heard Nutanix name in my current company and being in storage and virtualization domain for almost 8 years, I thought, it's worth giving a shot. So, I showed interest and continued with interview process, 4 rounds were taken, by few Indian and US folks, ranging from senior to director level. I was glad , I cracked all 4 rounds, this took almost a month's time. Then Nutanix HR started offer discussions, I was surprised, initial offer they made to me wasn't even a 5% hike, It was literally a shock for me to digest. They wanted a guy from Pune to change his location and come to bangalore and work with them, with expenses from his pocket, the hike they offered was not even covering rent expenses, which I had to incur for bangalore. I was so disgusted, I rejected the offer with all grace. Then, they came up with the interesting game, Nutanix HR included One of senior into discussion, who personally invited me to have one more technical discussion, to Bangalore. Knowing that, this is strange and almost a rejection, I declined and requested them to reject me. But, Still Nutanix senior wanted me to come over and appear, so respecting his request, I decided to give it a try, but In my mind, I was sure, this is cheap strategy to hire anybody. I went to Bangalore, to know another surprise, HR forgot to book cab for me, I had to reach Nutanix office on my own. Reimbursements took almost month to happen and lots of follow-ups. My interview started with some senior Nutanix engineer, who asked me to brief, then some general discussion, a selenium question, a coding question I solved coding question in a minute, it was very simple string manipulation. Selenium question also I answered, but I mentioned being a storage and virtualization domain QA for last 8 years, I'm not much into UI automation, still whatever I answered, I confirmed later on Google was correct answer, only confidence part was low. To be honest, interview lasted max 40 minutes, Lunch time approached, interviewer was more interested in food than a guy who applied leave in his current organization and travelled from Pune to bangalore. They asked me to leave for Pune, after 2 days, I got a call from HR saying , I'm not good enough to get any role in Nutanix. I was wondering , what did they discover in those 40 minutes to reject a guy with whom they started offer discussions earlier? Strange organization, I was OS, python, storage and virtualization guy, and JD was also on the same line, and interviewer asked nothing related to my expertise especially in rejection round. I went for this organization considering that they are real giant, but No, they are not. In industry, I haven't seen any org. asking candidates to join for mere 5% hike, which put's candidate into a monetary loss. I distinctly remember, giving my compensation details to Nutanix HR well before the process started, knowing penny-pinching nature of the management HR must have replied initially only, saying you don't fit into monetary constraints, but NO, they wanted to waste their time and mine as well. Nutanix senior, once mentioned to me, He is not getting right guys and hence they are hiring contractors and all. Now, I know why they are not able to hire right guys .. This Organization just left bad taste in my mouth .. Best luck Nutanix in your pursuit of best talent at cheap price ..
