I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Nutanix in Oct 2014
Interview
I had a very bad interview experience with Nutanix. I applied for MTS - File Systems position since I had relevant background. I already had an offer from an equally paying Company, but the concept of Distributed File Systems lured me into applying for this (indeed they have an amazing product).
Had 2 rounds of telephonic interviews based on my background and coding questions (implement LRU and Happy number problem). Both interviewers sounded smart and sensible, they gave enough time to think and were supportive.
My onsite interview experience was bad and depressing. Onsite interview consisted of 4 rounds focusing on 'standard questions', locking, very little data structure, very little systems and none on distributed systems/file systems. Unfortunately my interviewers didn't seem to be interested in testing the ability of a candidate/approach to a problem but rather were 'looking for the answer they had in mind (that's the problem with standard questions)'. Even worst, one of the interviewers asked me to just start coding even before I tried to explain him the solution. Only 1 of 4 interviewers asked questions based on my past projects (I have 3+ years relevant experience).
My other friends had good interviewers and better interview experiences. But my experience did not give me a good impression of the folks working there.
Tip:
It might depend on the interviewers. Just do your part and hope for the best.

Other Member Of Technical Staff Interview Reviews for Nutanix
In total I had 4 interview rounds, which are described as follows.
Round 1: Screening- Two coding questions, one easy and another medium to hard level coding question, both of which I solved. Basic questions on Python and Kubernetes.
Round 2: Technical (Face-to-face)-2 to 3 Coding questions of medium level. Scenario based questions according to profile. It went on for another hour.
Round 3: Technical(Face-to-Face)- Real life based problems asked including some questions on Algorithms.
Round 4: Behavioral(Face-to-Face) It went on for 2 hrs. Questions mostly on previously done work and revolve around how much understanding and experience you had in past.
All the interviewers were friendly and welcoming. I instantly loved the culture when I walked into their office. It was my dream company and I got selected :)
