I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nutanix (Singapore) in Apr 2022
Interview
My interaction with Nutanix's interview process was quite erratic and disorganized. While the process consisted of four rounds, one with a recruiter, one with the hiring manager, and two with two team members per session, the overall structure left much to be desired.
During one of the interview rounds, an interviewer spontaneously decided to initiate a role play scenario on the spot between the other interviewer and me. The other interviewer appeared visibly shocked and unprepared to participate in the impromptu role play.
Also , it became apparent that there was a lack of confidence within the team regarding the company itself. With the exception of the hiring manager, team members repeatedly questioned my decision to potentially leave my current role for Nutanix, expressing doubts and posing rhetorical inquiries about why I would consider such a move. This pervasive skepticism created an atmosphere that left me questioning the organization's internal dynamics and morale.
However, the most disappointing aspect is when the recruiter called me to informed me that I had successfully passed all rounds, but asked if I was willing to lower my expected salary to an amount that is the same as my current company. Her reason was that that was the budget that would most likely allow the requisition to get approved. In the end, I believe the requisition was not approved even though the hiring manager reached out to me after a month to inform me that the team decided not to open the role.
It was an extremely insulting experience to invest significant time and effort in a multi-round interview process for a role that had not yet received approval.

Interview
Started with a phone screen for a position I had applied for on LinkedIn. During the phone screen, the recruiter suggested another position for me that she thought I fit better. Was put through the interviewing process for both positions. Had 3-4 zoom interviews and ended up falling in love with the position the recruiter suggested. Additionally, throughout all my interviews it was very conversational which I appreciate in interviews.
