The process took 1 week. I interviewed at O'Reilly Auto Parts (Norwalk, CA) in Sep 2008
Interview
Filled out in-store application, was contacted about a week later by the store manager and arranged a in-person interview the following week. Arrived at the store around 10 minutes early and greeted the store manager. He asked me to step to the back of the store (warehouse portion) where there was a desk setup in a converted corner 'office.' I was then asked a series of questions ranging from my previous work experiences to my familiarity with automotive procedures, types of parts, automotive service, ETC. After all of that I was then introduced to the 'commercial manager' (the person who I would be working directly with) and he proceeded to ask some of the same questions that the manager had asked. After about ten minutes with the commercial manager the store manager returned and scheduled me drug screening and asked me to begin filling out the forms needed to begin the hiring process.

Question 1
Noting that was out of the ordinary. I will say that they will ask about your familiarity with certain car parts. I have even heard that with certain employees they make them undergo a computerized test that simulates parts requests from potential customers.

The interview will be with a store manager and they may be from another store in your district. At this location it is not really about your experience or knowledge but whether or not store management "likes" you.

Introduced myself...than heard all about the managers drinking stories. And about getting some. Immediately turned off but needed a job. I guess they wanted to hire me as soon as I Walked in because no self respecting person should work here. My mistake for taking the job
