I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at OKG (Singapore) in Aug 2023
Interview
5 rounds of interviews, followed by 2 hiring manager interviews (hence in total 7 interviews). Prior to the interview, OKX will give a handout what will each interview round will ask (I appreciate this one) Comments - Half of the interviewers were late for more than 5 minutes. They always said “sorry I was from an urgent meeting.” - For the "techinical/computer science questions" section, they just ask questions anyhow. Not structured and weird follow-up questions. Expect a lot of Java questions. - One of the interview question was asking “how does HTTPS work”. I answered correctly and he insisted “no, there is no way HTTPS encryption is using symmetric key, it’s all asymmetric end-to-end” and this guy is a Staff Engineer. - My potential hiring manager explicitly asked “can you speak Chinese” - Lengthy interview process, I am not clear who I will be interviewing with, which team I will join, which person is my future reporting manager When I get the offer, I realize there was no opportunity for me to know in details what will my team and I will do. I explicitly asked HR to pass my request to know more to my future manager, but somehow my request is ignored and she instead responded with “of course you will have things to do! We are growing! We are in our globalization era!”. This template answer is not helpful.
During the interview process, I feel the HR here is extremely unprofessional—either the company is putting unbearable pressure on her, or she simply lacks the competence to manage something as basic as scheduling working hours. She often asks bizarre, irrelevant questions that make you wonder what is going through her mind.
The technical interviewers are hit-or-miss: some are decent, others clearly not up to standard. What really stands out is the toxic internal politics—you can feel the turf wars between departments. Departments appear to be in competition rather than collaboration, and the politics are hard to ignore.
And let’s not forget the overtime culture: people routinely stay late because there’s free dinner AFTER 7 pm, which conveniently ensures no one leaves before then. Unless you’re desperately in need of money, or have the physical stamina and psychological resilience of a marathon runner, you’re better off avoiding this place.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at OKG (Hong Kong) in Dec 2024
Interview
It's a totally waste of time, they are not really hiring, they intertview just for theire KPIs. No respects to candidates at all
I finished the technical itnerview and able to work out the live codinbg problems.
But never heard back from them even I asked twice, while I see the same role reposted again and again in Linkedin in the last 3 months after I interviewed
The interview process was smooth and efficient, taking about 3 weeks in total. It included 3 technical interviews, 1 interview with the hiring manager, and 1 culture fit interview. The recruiter was friendly and efficient, making the overall experience quite positive.
