The interview process was fine up till the offer stage. However, I was informed that I had been moved to the offer approval stage and asked me to submit my personal declarations and documents. On the following Monday, the Recruiter got back to me to set up a “Casual chat” with the hiring team. She then cancelled the meeting late at night on the same day, stating she will be in touch soon. On Tuesday, i received no updates. I proceeded to email her for updates, she then called me to say that the team has decided to change their mind in the last minute to move forward with another candidate. I find it highly unprofessional to move someone to the offer approval stage and ask for their personal documents to be submitted if they weren’t sure that they were going to offer a role.
