Applied for the Performance Improvement Specialist position via the careers website in November 2019. Had a phone screen with the recruiter in January 2020. Then was scheduled for a separate phone screen with a program manager in January 2020. I was then asked to prepare a presentation for a group/panel interview in February 2020. I prepared a presentation with handouts and a PowerPoint for 9 other Performance Improvement Specialists. Then immediately went to an interview with the PI Manager and PI Director. I was moved forward in the interview process. They asked me to meet with 3 members of executive leadership in March of 2020. it was canceled due to COVID. It was rescheduled for May of 2020. This was an extremely long and difficult interview process even without the delay of COVID. They were very thorough as they only had one position available. I was called 3 weeks later by the PI manager. I was not offered the position because the candidate they offered the position to had more experience. When asking for feedback, I was told I interview very well, but I need more direct experience. He suggested I should get involved with a RIM project.
