I applied directly through the Octopus website for an Energy Specialist role, based in London (working remotely to begin with). Within a few days I received a phone call from Sophie, and we had a brief chat about the role and the next steps to forward the application. Sophie then organised a Skype 1:1 interview with me, lasting just over 30 minutes or so. The questions were more general at this stage, and I expressed my interest for the specific role and the company. Then, I completed an online Mathematical and Verbal Reasoning timed assessment - I would highly recommend preparing for this and having a calculator to hand! Sophie then called my the following week to prepare me for the assessment day- she was super helpful explaining what I needed to focus on for the day, and answered any questions in advance that I had, even calling me the day prior to ensure I was all set. The assessment day was a really great opportunity to meet and chat with the team, and the group tasks were made fun to work through. We were encouraged to be ourselves, the atmosphere was relaxed and I felt really comfortable. The final 20/30 minutes was another 1:1 interview with an employee of Octopus. I was super thrilled to get through to the final stage - a final interview with Christie. This was more informal, and Christie went over the details fo the job specification, and asked about my interests and got to know me a little more as an individual. I was offered the job in the final interview and was delighted to accept the offer :)
