LIke others have mentioned - this is a quite long and tough, yet rewarding process to go through. Firstly I received a call from Mollie at Instant Impact - a pre-screening interview. I was then invited to a Zoom interview - this was mostly competency based questions focussing on customer service, resiliance and adaptability. I was then sent numerical and verbal tests - these are tricky - so revise revise and revise some more. It's important to score at least 50% to pass. Once these stages are complete you are invited to a discovery day (and if you've made it this far you're in the 3% of applicants that do!). The discovery day is where you finally meet and talk to the teams at Octopus Energy. Preparation is the key for this day - luckily Tayla was awesome with hints and tips - and they were invaluable!! The discovery day normally includes 10-12 other applicants, as well as different people/assessors from Octopus - they are so incredibly friendly and helpful that any nerves are soon forgotten. They start with seperating applicants into smaller teams and asking a fun ice breaker ('does pineapple belong on pizza' for example). After this there is a 30 minute 1-1 interview mostly on similar competencies from the earlier Zoom call. Following this are a customer service task and research task - both within smaller teams. Lastly, there is a Q&A where you can ask the Octopus team about the job etc. If you get through this stage there is a final video interview with an operations manager - mostly focussing on customer service questions. I was then offered the job. Although the process was long and sometimes tough - it helped me learn more about the company and their expectations - as well as helping them recruit the best people. The fact that it was tough makes the job offer I received feel even more worthwhile - I cannot wait to start the position. Finally, I will say how great both Mollie and Tayla at Instant Impact were - they ensured I was super prepared for every step of the process, always regularly communicating with me and giving me excellent feedback and tips on how to succeed.
