Octopus Energy has a thorough yet very fair interview process!
You begin the interview process with a quick 15 minute chat with a representative from Instant Impact, this is just a basic get to know style conversation.
If they think you show potential for the role, they then schedule in a more thorough 30 minute call which consists of competency based questions.
I personally had Tayla at Instant Impact as my go-to person, and I cannot thank her enough for her help throughout, she is personal and professional, and very easy to chat to with any questions or concerns!
If you pass the above two calls, you then have to pass 2 Numerical & Verbal reasoning tests - just a bit of advise, Instant Impact warn you that these are difficult and to study, and they are telling the truth, so do a practise test or two beforehand (at the very least!)
If you pass these, you will then be placed on to a Discovery Day - I was lucky enough to be put on one super quickly.
This day lasts roughly 3 and a half hours, and consists of an ice-breaker (approx 15 mins), team bonding research exercise (approx half hour), solving customer service queries as a group (half hour), Q&A time with current Octopus employees and then finally a one to one interview with a current Octopus employee.
The day went super smoothly and efficiently, and I was even more hopeful to join the Octopus team by the end of it!
The last stage after the Discovery day was a half hour call with the head of Operations in the Brighton Office - we went through some admin bits and bobs, and then had more of a casual conversation which ended with a job offer!
So all in all as I said at the beginning, very thorough, but very rewarding if you are offered the position, as you know they have gone to the effort to find the right candidates!
