The interview process was a unique and different experience to one I had done before. It was extremely thorough and quite long. There were five main stages in total. Stage 1 - 15 minute phone interview with Tayla from Instant Impact recruitment company to get to know me and tell me about the company. Stage 2 - 30 minute video interview with Tayla from Instant Impact where she asked me about my previous customer experience, why I wanted to work for Octopus Energy, and why I wanted the role in particular. She also went into greater detail about the company itself and was super friendly and helpful throughout. Stage 3 - Numeracy and Literacy competency tests. These tests were quite difficult especially having not studied math since school so definitely do some basic math GCSE revision for this! Stage 4 - After passing the previous stage I was lucky enough to be put through the Discovery Day which was a 3 hour long day that consisted of team tasks, a Q and A session and also another one to one interview but this time it was with Octopus Energy themselves. This day was quite daunting and you had to do a lot of preparation and research for it which was quite a lot but Tayla helped me and gave me tips and feedback from my previous interview with her which helped me focus my efforts in the right direction! Stage 5 - If you successfully get through the Discovery Day you get a final interview which is a video call with someone at Octopus Energy. They genuinely wanted to get to know about me and how I would fit with the company and also allowed me to ask more questions about the company and see if it was a good fit for me too. It was very different to interviews I had done in the past and at the end was offered the job and told more about what to expect. All in all this was a very thorough and at times daunting experience. It is clear from the get go what the company expect from you and you are invited to let them know what you expect in return. It is very much a different experience to what I have been used to and everyone was super friendly and it made more more excited to join the team. Tayla was lovely and helpful and even called to congratulate me too which was super appreciated. The process was made very clear throughout even though there were alot of stages. I can't wait to start!
