I was initially contacted by an Instant Impact recruiter Tayla for a 15 minute introductory talk which was followed the day after with a longer 30 minute competency based video interview. These interviews were followed with short numerical and verbal reasoning assessments. After this I was invited to a 'Discovery Day' which is run over a 3-4 hour zoom call. In the discovery day you are put right at ease straight away where you participate in an icebreaker with the other candidates. This is then followed by two group tasks: a situational customer service task and a research task. The situational task is pretty self explanatory where you are given imaginary situations and you respond in your group on how you would deal with each of them. In the research task they then ask you to come up with and present a new product/service/partnership that Octopus could implement. This is then followed by another 30min interview with an Octopus employee and a group 30min Q&A session. After this there is a final 30-45min interview where you are made to feel at ease also. This interview gives you further insight into the role and expectations of the company for new starters. Tayla was super helpful throughout each of these stages providing tips and tricks on what to prepare. She was very supportive and rang after each stage to discuss how it went and ask if I had any questions.
