Octopus Energy interview questions

Applied online, simple application process requiring CV and some short questions. Phone call follow up with HR. Asked to complete a technical task over the Christmas period. No response to my submission. Ignored all follow-up emails.

Intro chat - I decided not to proceed from there. There are several technical steps. The interviewer was very put off by my not sharing my current compensation or salary range and got irritated. I get that it's their job to get that number from me, but it's mine not to share a datum that will be used against me, and it shouldn't be the cause of irritation to not easily concede.
