I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at OfferUp (Bellevue, WA) in Oct 2019
Interview
I was referred to the role & about three weeks later was contacted for a phone screen. This led to a phone interview with the hiring manager. Overall, the phone screen went really well. The recruiter was friendly and knowledgeable. She let me know that the next step would be a portfolio review with the hiring manager. When it came time for the portfolio review - it actually ended up being a behavioral interview. I had prepared for a portfolio review so it was unfortunate that I didn't think through situational questions prior to the interview. I do much better prepared. I am sure it was just a miscommunication.

Question 1
When was a time you failed & how did you handle it?
I would suggest to be cautious about doing design exercise with this company. They asked me send the digital file to them after I presented it in the interview which is analyzing their app based on their detailed requirements . I have a feeling they are taking advantages of collecting free ideas and designs to improve their app.
