I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Office Depot (Denver, CO) in Apr 2016
Interview
At my store, a person can walk in dressed decently, fill out the application on the computers in the store and speak directly with the store manager regarding any open positions. It seems to me that they will hire anybody that passes the background check. There is also no drug test required at store level.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Office Depot (Sanford, FL) in Apr 2018
Interview
Spoke with a very nice recruiter by phone however via the entire interview each time she asked a question and I responded, as I began to talk she clearly had her phone next to the keyboard which made a very loud racket which was difficult to talk/think through. I answered questions well and thoroughly however, asked some good questions and was told the Store Manager would contact me for an interview which I figured as an "at least" with 15+ years of retail management experience. I was contacted two weeks later by the recruiter via email stating they found someone else. Meanwhile the same position posted again this morning as a "new" opening so the apparently "better suited" hire had quit or was terminated.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Office Depot (Gaithersburg, MD)
Interview
Was already a supervisor. Interviewed with District manager and a district lead store manager. Interview was basic questions. Had to complete an online assessment. Interviewed with district manager in person and the district lead manager over the phone. It was simple and quick.
