The interview process began with a 45 minute initial phone screening. My resume had been forwarded from an exiting employee. The phone screening involved questions about my background and explaining my graduate degree. Some common interview questions like "What are your strengths and weaknesses" were asked. I then had to complete the official job application through the website. The next step involved meeting with more of the team at OhioHealth's Columbus location. It started with a 30 minute interview with a physician, 30 minutes with HR, 1 hour with the director of the office, and 45 minutes with the immediate supervisor for the position. Everyone was very cordial and respectful, and the values espoused by OhioHealth were embodied by the interviewers. Only the director asked specific questions about why I wanted to work at OhioHealth, but the interview was also much of him explaining the nature of the office and other facets of commercialization in the hospital system. At the end of the interviews, I was told that I was in competition with one other individual and that a decision would be reached within a week. Finally, the representative from HR called me to let me know that I did not get the offer, which is different from the norm but also much appreciated.
