Interview
I applied to Old Navy online and about a week later I received an email asking if I was still interested in the position. I few days later I received a call from Old Navy and I did a short telephone interview where I was asked what made me awesome, what I liked about Old Navy and what my availability was. I was immediately asked to come in for an "audition" the following Friday, and bring an item that represented me and be prepared to explain why. The audition was very different from any group interview I've done before. There were 7 of us and we played a few ice-breakers and games to get to know each other, and were asked what we knew about Old Navy (before you attend your audition do some research on Old Navy) and the supervisor in charge of the audition shared some Old Navy facts with us. We were then asked to go into the store and say hello to as many people as we could. Later we were asked to go onto the floor and pick a trendy item and learn as much as we could about the article to share with the group (I recommend reading the tags and finding out where the product was made, what it is made out of, and the washing directions, that's what I did and I was selected for the final interview). We also shared the items we brought to represent ourselves with the group. The following Monday I received an email informing me that I had been selected for the final interview. My interview was on the Monday after that with the hiring manager, and after a short casual conversation and a few interview questions I was offered the position on the spot and asked to start on the Friday. Overall the hiring process was fun and informative and Old Navy seems like it will be a great place to work.
